Welcome Post - Ed Busche

Hello Everyone,
I just wanted to take a moment to say hello and say a few things about myself. I am 44 years old and I am pursuing a Bachelor in Science for Health and Wellness. I would like to pursue the career of athletic trainer, registered dietitian, and personal trainer. I am married with 3 children, and 2 step children. I coach baseball and work in a steel mill. I should have my degree in about two years and am in the process of becoming an ACSM certified personal trainer. Life for me is pretty busy but am trying to maintain my sanity. I hope this course can give me some ways to manage my stress and aid me in handling the many bumps in the road that I am currently experiencing. I like things to be organized, I enjoy a glass of wine, and listening to music of the 60's, 70's, and 80's. Balancing life and school is difficult at times but I enjoy learning and expanding my education with individuals who share a common goal, advancing their education.

  1. Hi Ed,
Isn’t crazy how busy we can be trying to earn a degree balancing work and family. I also have found useful techniques within our shared degree program to ease these feelings.
I probably will continue on with nutrition myself as you describe. Also, I have begun the self paced American Council on Exercise (ACE) personal trainer certification program in tandem with my Kaplan curriculum. Pretty tough isn’t it? I most likely will seek out classroom support though. I have not had an anatomy class yet and some of the learning around that I have been getting hung up on.
    Talk soon!
    Ron
